Healthy teeth and gums are important to your overall wellness. With dental insurance through Cigna, you have coverage for preventive care and dental treatment.

2026 dental plans

Novant Health offers two levels of dental coverage—the Base Plan and the Enhanced Plan—to best suit your needs. The Enhanced Plan covers child and adult orthodontia with a lifetime maximum benefit of $2,000. The Base Plan is a lower-cost alternative that provides similar coverage for general services but has a lower annual maximum benefit and does not include orthodontia coverage.

Both plans cover preventive visits at 100% for both in-network and non-network providers.
Preventive care is excluded from calendar year maximums for non-network dentists.
Both plans offer the Cigna Dental DPPO that allows you to choose any dentist when you need care and saves you money when you use an in-network dentist.

You can enroll in dental coverage as a new hire, during open enrollment or if you have a qualifying life event.

You pay for dental coverage through pre-tax premiums from your paycheck. The amount you pay will depend on whether you cover just yourself or family members. You can view your plan costs in the enrollment system and here.

You can see any dentist you want, but you’ll generally pay less by staying in network. Selecting a dentist in the Cigna network will ensure you receive your plan’s highest benefits. Visit the Cigna website to find an in-network dentist near you.
